“Through on the canvas I’m examining the beautiful brutality of fight and the strength of human resilience. Each piece is created on canvas, using boxing gloves.
I’m interested in exploring how the canvas reacts to each punch, employing emotion and impulse to create abstract pieces of work, layer upon layer.
My love of boxing comes from being a very proud son, whose father was an amateur boxer. He boxed out of West Ham and spent most of his young adult years fighting on the canvas.
