“I have no plan when I start to paint. I allow my canvas to become completely taken over by my feeling in that particular moment. The material, colour and concept depend entirely on where my emotions decide to take me..... Keith is a contemporary artist from South East London. I never start a painting with anything particular in my mind. The paint I use and the shape/type of material I use depends entirely on my emotion at the time. I use oil, watercolor, aerosol, pastel and literally anything else I feel like! I take inspiration from what is occurring in my life and use that emotion to create my work. Painting has given me an entirely new way to express myself and I am at my happiest when I begin to see a new idea come to life. The limitlessness of painting in this style allows me to become totally free, something that has been difficult to achieve in other ways during the huge lockdown periods caused by Covid 19. It has been my escape and my focus and I sincerely believe it has maintained my mental health when the pandemic changed my life around me.
My beautiful wife Siobhan and my 1-year-old daughter Luna have also had a huge influence on me. Siobhan’s constant support in encouraging me to follow my dreams and our desire to give Luna the best life has driven me to work constantly and to put everything I have in to my paintings.
The last year has taught me that if there is something you want, then work as hard as you can for it. Follow your dreams, and follow them now. Life is short”
