Exhibiting Artists
Matt Bannister @bannister_images
“Matt Bannister is a figurative artist from Surrey, living and working in south London. Matt is fascinated by the quirks and shapes of the urban environment, producing work that responds to scenes and details that people might not have noticed. After studying art at Lancaster University, he worked in the media but returned to creating his own paintings and visual art works. He is a studio holder at Turf Projects, Croydon.”
Jennika Argent @art_scapades
“I’m a London-based artist who studied Graphic Design at Middlesex University. This is where I discovered my love for photography. My main interest lies in finding reflections in puddles (mostly around London). I have been working on this collection since 2012 and am constantly on the lookout for hidden treasures on the street.”
Ben Smith @ bensmithpaintinganddrawing
“I am a painter, in oils and acrylic, mainly of the urban landscape. I make drawings in the locality of south London where I live and work and collage these together in the studio as a basis for larger paintings; often the resulting image is not of an actual existing location but one of my own devising. Recently I have begun to draw compositions entirely in the studio, using my plein air drawings as reference rather than photocopying them to make up the finished image. This phase of work has brought the human figure more into my paintings.”
Canyonlands @canyonlandsuk
“I’m a musician and multimedia artist based in London working at the intersection of AI and traditional tools. My work is informed by the brutalist landscapes of my home of London as well as contemplating themes of utopian idealism, the dead-end nihilism that bureaucratic structures impose on human life. My main multimedia art collections are Form & Light, Code is Law and Structura.”
Jake Obichere @The_architects_linework_
“I go by the brand “The Architects Linework”, I am an expressive illustrator artist, and my work captures three key elements: My work has something for everyone. It talks about the human experience, and highlights three things: Creative curiosity, Intrinsic Lucidity and timeless elation.
I am an architect in training, a spoken word artist and Illustrator of a West African Heritage, born and raised in East London. I have created installations of artwork in the past at Coventry's Telegraph Building, in collaboration with the Council, as well as continual drawing activities such as a daily drawing challenge to continue my experimentation of different art forms that aid my practice.”
Janet Barfield @jfbdownham
“I specialise in drawing & painting en plein air. I'm inspired by where I live in Southeast London, from the everyday buildings, shops & pubs to more well-known central London views. My eye is drawn by the small details; I aim to share my love of these with the viewer and look at places afresh.”
See you there!
